Trade Agreements And Conventions
Ferrotramviaria, with the aim of enhancing and improving its services, has initiated commercial agreements, partnerships, and conventions that allow for greater and more convenient use of our services by users. The integration between various public transport operators was completed in October 2019 with the inauguration of the connecting tunnel between the Bari Centrale stations of Ferrotramviaria, RFI, and Sud Est. Travellers can easily move from one rail service to another thanks to a modern system of elevators and escalators.
Following the agreement signed between Ferrotramviaria and Ferrovie Appulo Lucane, the sale/issuance of an integrated single ticket, i.e., a single ride ticket or weekly/monthly ticket (App or web only) valid for both transport companies on combined railway sections of the two operators, has been activated.
- The single integrated one-way ticket can be purchased at the ticket offices, self-service machines, and sales points of the two operators.
- Weekly and monthly passes can be purchased exclusively through the Ferrotramviaria App and website (similarly to other passes, these are not issued for the Airport Stop).
- The cost of the integrated single ticket is equal to the sum of the price of the ticket ordinarily issued for the separate routes by Ferrotramviaria and Ferrovie Appulo Lucane.
- It can be purchased in advance of the date of travel.
- It is valid for a single journey on the origin-destination route indicated on the ticket on the day of validity.
- It must always be validated before travel.
- The integrated single ticket purchased for travel to/from the Airport does not require any validation, as the ticket is cancelled, both at entry and exit, at the control gates located at the Airport stop.
- The integrated single ticket issued by the sales network of the two operators has a similar support in terms of size and general characteristics.
Regarding travel conditions, stated on the back of the ticket, the conditions of each network apply according to the respective company regulations regarding validity and travel times.
Following the agreement with Amtab, the company managing Bari’s urban transport service, Ferrotramviaria, together with Ferrovie Appulo Lucane, has offered integrated railway tickets with Bari bus transport tickets since 14 December 2015.
Passengers traveling to Bari can purchase the integrated Ferrotramviaria – Amtab ticket at station ticket offices and self-service machines.
There are two purchasing options:
The single journey railway ticket integrated with a timed Amtab ticket valid for 90 minutes (starting from the time of validation when boarding the bus);
The return railway ticket integrated with an Amtab ticket valid for the entire day.
The cost of the integrated Ferrotramviaria - Amtab ticket is equal to the sum of the prices of the regular tickets issued separately by Ferrotramviaria and Amtab.
The integrated Ferrotramviaria – Amtab ticket is valid for the day of issue or for the day specified by the customer for the railway ticket.
In 2021, the “Combined Sales in Puglia” project was launched. The project allows Trenitalia to combine sales of subscriptions/season tickets, railway services, and individual tickets from other railway transport companies operating in the region, including Ferrotramviaria, along with their own. This initiative simplifies the ticket and subscription sales processes, offering customers combined travel solutions available through Trenitalia’s sales channels (ticket offices, automatic ticket machines, and online, etc.). The price of the combined solution is the sum of the prices of the individual railway companies' travel tickets, without any surcharge for mediation.
The new strategic partnership with FlixBus represents a significant step forward in enhancing accessibility and sustainable mobility in the Apulia region. With the expansion of operational routes to major cities and popular destinations in Apulia, Ferrotramviaria SpA and FlixBus are committed to supporting the development of sustainable tourism and adding value to the local area. This partnership aims to create new opportunities for tourism and local economies, allowing travellers to explore the richness and diversity of the Apulian region through an integrated, convenient, and eco-friendly transport service.
In this regard, our railway connection passing through Bari's “Karol Wojtyla” Airport plays a strategic role within this agreement. In collaboration with FlixBus, Ferrotramviaria provides an intermodal connection service between Bari Airport and other Apulian destinations, thus facilitating access for travellers from various cities in Italy and Europe. This integrated solution allows passengers to conveniently reach 13 stations between Bari and Andria, including an interchange hub at Bari Centrale.
The agreement, based on strategic planning of connections between FlixBus's European network and Ferrotramviaria’s regional network, reflects the importance of synergies between global and local operators in promoting the area while considering new environmental challenges. The desire to improve accessibility to the area with collective solutions as alternatives to personal cars is, of course, at the heart of this initiative.
