Linking elevators

LIFT CONNECTION – BARI CENTRALE

At the Bari Centrale station of the Ferrovie Appulo Lucane, already in operation since 2014 alongside the introduction of the integrated single ticket, there is an elevator connecting the FAL platform level with that of Ferrotramviaria S.p.A. Thanks to this elevator, passengers who need to change trains and railway operators can move from one station to another and access trains directly without having to go outside.

The elevator is also accessible from the FAL entrance hall at street level, allowing easy transit for people with reduced or impaired mobility. The use of the elevator is permitted on every working day of the calendar, from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Integration among the various local public transport operators was completed with the opening in October 2019 of the connecting tunnel between the Bari Centrale stations of Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, Ferrotramviaria S.p.A., and Ferrovie del Sud Est (a “Yellow” underpass if coming from the Bari Centrale station of RFI or from Via Giuseppe Capruzzi). Travelers can move from one railway service to another thanks to a modern system of elevators and escalators. This has further improved the level of accessibility, including for passengers with disabilities.
