Convenzioni e Agevolazioni di Viaggio
On both rail and road services, children under the age of 10 travel for free, provided they are accompanied individually by an adult and do not occupy a seat. Age is considered reached on the day of the anniversary of the birth.
In compliance with Article 30 of the Regional Law 31.10.2002 no. 18 and subsequent integrations, the issuance of free travel tickets is provided, subject to the exhaustion of resources made available by the Puglian Region, for the following categories of citizens:
- Individuals blind due to absolute blindness or with a residual vision not exceeding one-tenth in both eyes with possible correction, and their possible companions if the right is recognized.
- War-disabled individuals, civilians disabled due to war and service, registered in the first, second, and third category of table A) attached to the law of March 18, 1968, no. 313 and subsequent modifications, and their possible companions if the right is recognized.
- Civil disabled individuals and handicapped persons certified by the competent authority, who have been recognized as having a disability of no less than 80%, and their possible companions if the right is recognized.
- Workers disabled due to workplace accidents certified by the competent authority, who have been recognized as having a disability of no less than 70%, and their possible companions if the right is recognized.
For the transport of the above categories of citizens, the following travel documents are issued on both railways and bus lines:
Weekly or monthly subscription ticket, single journey, and round-trip ticket, free for disabled individuals. These are issued, free of charge, only to those belonging to one of the beneficiary categories who need it for work, study, or health care reasons.
To obtain this benefit, applicants are required to present to the General Transportation Directorate of Ferrotramviaria the special declaration/request (Mod. ACT.24.02.rev.1), which is distributed at the directorial offices and available on the company website, filled out in the appropriate parts and accompanied by suitable documentation. The Directorate, upon verification of the declared information and the produced documentation, will allow the issuance of the requested travel document at any station ticket office. The entitled person, provided with an identity document and tax code, must specify to the ticket operator the travel relationship requested.
For single journey tickets or round-trip tickets, unlike subscriptions, it is not necessary to present a certificate from the employer and/or educational institution and/or health facility. The ticket will bear the wording "Valid also for an accompanying person" if the beneficiary has been granted the right to an accompaniment.
The travel of the companion is only permitted in the performance of that function and, therefore, in the presence of the beneficiary (the companion may not always be the same person). Free tickets for disabled travellers cannot be issued for travel requests that originate or terminate at the Airport stop. Please note it is also no longer possible to request the issuance of the free tickets on board trains and buses.
The Company has signed an agreement with the Commands of the Carabinieri, State Police, Penitentiary Police, Finance Guard, and State Forestry Corps, which establishes that agents belonging to these law enforcement agencies, when off-duty, may benefit from a 60% discount on weekly and monthly subscriptions, compared to the regional fare of the travel ticket.
With regards to the Italian Army (EI), the Company has signed an agreement which establishes that off-duty soldiers may benefit from a 50% discount on weekly and monthly subscriptions, compared to the regional fare of the travel ticket.
Please Note: The agreement does not include the purchase of single journey or round-trip tickets.
Method of subscription purchase
Members of the various Law Enforcement Services and the Italian Army need to request the e-via Card in advance to purchase weekly or monthly subscriptions at a reduced rate. This request should be made through the online form available on the company website www.ferrotramviaria.it, attaching the following documentation:
A scan of the identity document:
The health card
The service card
A passport-sized photo
Indicating in the 'info' section the departure and arrival stations and/or stops
Once issued, the e-via Card will allow the purchase of subscriptions directly from the 'fares' section of the website: www.ferrotramviaria.it, or from the self-service machines available at all stations and/or stops.
The card is issued free of charge, and the agreement will be valid for one year from the date of subscription. Delivery can be requested at station/stop ticket offices."
Admission procedures to the train or substitute supplementary automotive services.
Before boarding any means of transport agents of the FF.OO. and the Italian Army must voluntarily signal their presence on board to the Train Manager/Line Driver, except for those in uniform. If the Train Manager cannot immediately be found on the platform at the time of departure, the FF.OO. or Army agent must still try to locate them. Members of the FF.OO. and the Army who do not observe the boarding procedures mentioned above will be considered ‘ticketless’ and normal passenger regulations may be applied to them.
Commitment of members of the FF.OO. and the Italian Army on board
Once on board, members of the FF.OO. and the Army, in addition to the suppression of crimes in general, upon request by Ferrotramviaria personnel in service on the train/bus, or on their own initiative if they assess the need, may intervene, depending on the type of carrier, to:
- Suppress violations provided for by Title II of the D.P.R. n° 753/1980, for example: throwing objects out of the window; activating the emergency brake; defacing carriages; unauthorized sale of goods on board the train.
- Stop any activities involving extortion or unauthorised collections on board.
The Train Chief/Line Conductor may request the intervention of members of the law enforcement agencies and the Italian Army present on board to:
- Identify passengers without a ticket or with an irregular travel document who refuse to regularise their situation.
- Have passengers disembark from the vehicle if the personnel decide to terminate their journey due to drunkenness, harassment, public indecency, or other reasons.
In compliance with ministerial circulars and decrees issued by the Puglia Regional Assembly, during elections, discounted travel tickets are issued for travel on trains and the substitute holiday bus service (AS runs), to facilitate voter turnout both for residents within Italian national territory and those residing abroad.
